Chris Gayle got the West Indies innings off to start, and despite some useful contributions down the order, the total of exactly 300 was a bit less than initially threatened. England had to bat aggressively for a change, and managed to keep up throughout although they always seemed to lose wickets at the last time. Eventually the tail held their nerve, and England ended up on the right side of a thriller. Lara said he was all about entertainment, and this match fitted that bill. Ended with a 1 wicket win for England.
